It's fair to say they both look wrong in this image.

Reminds me of Big Willy. (Warning: don’t search for that at work.)

I’m sure that body was much easier to fabricate than an overgrown bug.

I really love this idea for some reason and I understand why it is front engined, but it still is a front engined Type 1.
Mechanically, this thing is as far from the original Beetle as you can get. The engine isn’t in the back, rather it’s upfront, and it isn’t an air-cooled boxer four. Instead, it’s a 5.7 liter Hemi V8, presumably the one that came with the Dodge chassis that it’s riding on. There’s no word on how much it weighs, but it’s guaranteed to have more grunt t han the 34 horsepower that was produced by a 1959 Beetle’s 4-cylinder!
I always thought the VW air cooled engine wasn’t technically a boxer like a Subaru. Am I wrong? I’m probably wrong.

If memory serves me correctly it is in fact a boxer engine. I know the crank sure makes it look that way but I can’t remember the firing order

Ok, I was just having a brain fart because they are horizontally opposed etc.

That’s a Florida sized bug.
